Woody Valley Naos

Safety in the air

“Safety first” was the motto of Woody Valley in the development of the NAOS harness. The large, inflatable back protector offers an excellent deceleration value of only 29 g (the CE standard allows a maximum of 50 g!). Together with additional Lightshield protectors for the upper back and sideways for the pelvis and thighs, the T-Lock for closing the harness and the seat board, it offers a very high level of passive safety. Plus, it packs down small, is very comfortable and has many practical details.

As before, most paraglider pilots fly with an open harness – the “entry-level” harness, so to speak. For this reason, we are particularly pleased that our long-standing partner has devoted a great deal of attention to this category. Decades of Woody Valley expertise have gone into the NAOS.

Harnesses for training, gliding and thermal flying, as well as ground handling, should be robust, uncomplicated, comfortable and, above all, safe! And in this respect, the NAOS is among the best we know. While the NAOS is also available in other countries with a foam protector, we only offer it with an inflatable protector. The pack size is considerably smaller and both versions offer a maximum G-value of under 30! The CE standard allows a maximum of 50 g – so you are really in the green zone. In addition, there are further “voluntary” protectors to protect the hips, pelvis and upper back. They are made of a material that Woody Valley calls “Lightshield” and that has been tested and certified to directive EU 89/686/EEC category 2. The “safety package” is completed by a seat board and a T-bar closure.

The other details:

> Rescue compartment under the seat
> Separate leg loops
> 2 side pockets
> Easy to adjust
> Adjustable chest strap with integrated whistle
> Tear and abrasion resistant fabric
> Large, easily accessible luggage compartment on the back (S=20L, M=24L, L=28L, XL=31L)
> Accelerator
> In the works: air pump for the inflatable protector
We think: the NAOS is a great harness for training, ground handling, gliding and thermal flying.
